Join our Automotive Protection team as a General Manager for the UK, where you'll lead and inspire our business to new heights. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with global peers, drive market growth, and enhance customer loyalty through innovative solutions.
Your new role
Reporting to the Global Head of Automotive Protection, you'll be at the forefront of our partnership with major clients, ensuring efficient claims handling and exceptional customer service. This includes leading both short-term and long-term strategies, creating and delivering a top-notch customer experience with clear and unique offerings.

Main responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and execution of profitable growth strategies and world-class customer experiences across differentiated distribution channels.
- Business Performance: Contribute to the execution of business strategy, ensuring profitability and performance targets are met, while managing key relationships and partnerships to drive value.
- Policy & Compliance: Oversee the launch of new insurance programs, ensuring compliance with QBE’s policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause and impact analysis of recurring customer issues, implementing solutions to drive continuous improvement.
- Customer Focus: Develop market strategies and manage relationships with partners to deliver customer-centric solutions, competitive advantage, and growth.
- Financial Management: Manage financial performance, monitor risks, and identify opportunities to improve revenue and cost performance.
- People Management: Foster a culture of accountability and high performance, ensuring clear roles, effective performance management, and employee engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration on product, service, and technology to enhance customer experience.
About You
- Relationship & Communication Skills: Great interpersonal and communication abilities to build trust and influence at all levels within the organization.
- Leadership & People Management: Experience leading teams, driving strategic change, and inspiring operational and strategic success.
- Commercial & Strategic Thinking: Sound commercial judgment with a strategic, innovative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Industry Expertise: Knowledge of the insurance market, particularly in automotive affinity partnerships, auto insurance products, and underwriting practices.
- Business Growth & Performance: Experience of driving sustained, profitable business growth and delivering on business plans within sales and development.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Experience in leading transformational, cross-functional customer initiatives and managing key partnerships.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of insurance industry regulations, statutory regimes, and local insurance markets.
- Proven Expertise: Background in auto manufacturer, distribution, affinity partnerships, proposition, and product management in the general insurance sector.
