Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing corporation tax returns for the UK and European entities (including European branches) (in conjunction with external tax advisors);
- Assist with the production of VAT / indirect tax returns (UK and Europe) (in conjunction with external tax advisors);
- Assist with the maintaining and improving transfer pricing files, for the UK and European entities (in conjunction with external tax advisors);
- Assist with documenting and reviewing tax controls, used to support general risk management;
- Assist with producing payment on account estimates for periodic settlement to HMRC and European tax authorities;
- Assist with addressing IPT queries;
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests and project work;
- Assist with implementing and ensuring compliance with tax regulatory changes (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2);
- Assist with production of statutory accounts and other regulatory reporting, focusing on tax disclosures (including for Group reporting purposes);
- Assist with liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure all tax information required is produced to a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner;
- Assist with design and development of process improvements to ensure efficient and accurate production of tax data; and improve automation and efficiency across the UK and European operations.
Experience
- 3 years’ post qualification experience;
- Industry experience, within an insurance company, favourable;
- Working knowledge of corporation tax requirements for insurance companies operating in the UK and Europe;
- Working knowledge of VAT requirements for insurance companies operating in the UK and Europe;
- Working knowledge of IPT requirements for insurance companies;
- Experience with Lloyd’s Syndicates as well as insurance companies;
- Liaison with external tax advisors; and
- Improving and maintaining taxation accounting procedures.

- Business level English skills required
- Second European language (Spanish, German etc) favourable.
