This role covers the North of England, including; North East, North West, Manchester and Yorkshire. You will be field‑based, with regular travel across these locations to engage with customers and stakeholders.

The Role
We’re on the search for a high performing, ambitious investment development professional to join our growing business.
The successful candidate will play a key role working with our wholesale partners and Financial Advisers in the retirement market to identify and secure profitable opportunities for the Standard Life Group, from a defined target market of Financial Adviser ('Adviser') firms; these opportunities will include our innovative individual retirement and investment solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will be a proven high achiever who is well versed in exceeding targets on a regular basis. The objective of the role is to increase business levels across all aspects of our individual retirement and investment propositions primarily through meeting (face to face and or virtually) financial advisers and our wholesale partners across a specified region. You will also have the ability to deliver compelling and engaging presentations in order to sell the Standard Life proposition at both Standard Life and industry events.

What are we looking for?
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)
- Proven track record for identifying and managing prospective adviser accounts across target market segments, whilst developing and maintaining relationships to secure new business targets.
- Accountable for achieving targeted business activity. This will include meeting targets, identifying business needs, outlining our value proposition, and follow up within agreed timescales. Keeping client records up to date in line with this activity.
- Effective at developing and maintaining, mutually beneficial relationships with target Advisers that deliver profitable and sustainable inflows in line with business targets and an ongoing working relationship that seeks sustainable and consistent growth.
- Responsible for working across the business, being involved with engaging and supporting event-led marketing initiatives or equivalent National & Network engagement opportunities which support the business strategy.
- Ability to deliver the production of business plans for the aligned region, defining interventions to exceed national and business centre targets across our individual retirement and investment solutions, identifying and fulfilling regional opportunities for growth.
Desirable
- To deliver engaging and insightful presentations to groups of advisers, investment committees, and at Adviser industry events to drive the sales agenda and develop market opportunity.
- To be able to analyse business plans, using panel and sales MI to drive actions and future direction, to inform and evolve business plans for the short, medium, and longer term.
- Actively working with wholesale partners to deliver a joined-up Adviser engagement and experience.
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Commercially astute with excellent relationship management and negotiation skills
- Experience in meeting new business targets
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Strong understanding of UK pensions, retirement income products, and insurance offerings
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including FCA rules and Consumer Duty obligations
- Ability to interpret data and translate into actionable insights, with strong presentation skills
