The role
We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Compliance Consultant to join the Asset Management Compliance Pillar within the Compliance Advisory and Customer Oversight Team to assist with providing advice, independent opinion and assurance to the Asset Management Business Division. The main purpose of the role is to assist and support the Phoenix Asset Management Compliance team by turning operational data into risk insight and supporting thematic oversight across the pillar. In addition ensuring all the business activities are carried out in compliance to the relevant rules and regulations.
- Produce MI for Boards, Committees and Senior Management
- Analyse breach logs, trade logs, Forum and Committee MI to identify risk themes.
- Undertake analysis and interpretation of regulatory requirements, expectations and good market practice as part of formulating and providing advice to the business on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Support the Senior Compliance Manager with day-to-day compliance and administrative tasks.
- Assist with monitoring trading and fund management activity alongside the Compliance Advisory Managers and learn how compliance monitoring/testing is conducted.
- Track issues, actions and evidence arising from Line 2 and GIA reviews.
- Develop a broad understanding of the private and public market products traded by the firm.
- Take ownership and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and records and assist with regulatory reporting and internal reviews where required.
- Work closely with the Compliance team and other relevant stakeholders to contribute to change projects in line with agreed deadlines, escalating issues promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider Compliance Pillars to deliver one efficient compliance function to the wider business.
- Managing enquiries to the Advisory team accurately and efficiently in line with agreed SLAs.
- Contributing to various team working groups, owning allocated actions and ensuring these are completed within agreed timescales.
What We’re Looking For
You could be someone with some experience in compliance, risk, audit or operations within asset management looking for a role where you can use your skills to analyse documents or you may have experience in deciphering regulation, policies and standards.
Excellent attention to detail with a curious and proactive approach to learning.
Interest in understanding how asset managers are governed and overseen.
Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Good communication and organisational skills.
