Aon is currently recruiting a Client Management Director to join our Global Client team specialising in providing risk advisory services to large and complex global organisations.
This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of office-based, home and client-facing working, and can be based from our London or Chelmsford offices.

What the day will look like
We are recruiting a Client Management Director to join our Global Client Team, based in Chelmsford or London, specialising in the delivery of risk advisory services to large, complex, multinational organisations.
This is a senior leadership role with dual responsibility. You will lead a team of Client Managers, providing direction, consistency and support across day‑to‑day client delivery, while also acting as Client Director for a small portfolio of key clients.
Client Managers are responsible for managing end‑to‑end renewal activity across our client base. As Client Management Director, you will set clear standards, drive a consistent approach and promote continuous improvement, with a strong focus on coaching, development and performance.
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will lead and motivate the Client Management team to deliver high‑quality servicing and project management for complex multinational insurance programmes. More broadly, you will help bring together the full breadth of Aon’s capabilities, ensuring our clients receive joined‑up, strategic advice aligned to their business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of Client Managers to deliver exceptional client service, effective project management and positive client outcomes
- Attracting, developing and retaining high‑calibre talent within the team
- Driving consistency through coaching, development and best‑practice ways of working in line with Aon and client objectives
- Acting as senior relationship manager for your own portfolio of clients, overseeing day‑to‑day activity and identifying new business opportunities
- Partnering with the leadership team to deliver agreed service KPIs and performance measures

Skills and experience that lead to success
- Proven experience within the insurance industry, with a strong background in client relationship management
- Experience of commercial insurance, ideally including exposure to complex or global insurance programmes
- Well‑established relationships with insurers and key market contacts
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, insurers and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching and developing high‑performing teams
- A collaborative team player who contributes positively to a broader leadership environment
