We’re making some big changes to Internal Communications at AXA UK&I. We’re rethinking how we work, where we focus and the impact we can have. As an Internal Communications Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our new team helping to shape and deliver what colleagues see, hear and experience and finding bolder, more daring ways to bring our story to life.
You’ll help shape our editorial plan and turn business priorities into compelling, joined-up communications, leading some of our biggest colleague campaigns, communication projects and events. Working closely with our Strategic Business Partners and other comms specialists within the team, you’ll help colleagues make sense of AXA’s ambitions by bringing together stories, content, and channels into a more coordinated and impactful colleague experience.
You’ll also lead key channel development projects and continually look for ways to improve how we reach and engage colleagues. Reporting to the Head of Content and Channels, you’ll lead day-to-day delivery across a busy, fast-moving environment across multiple audiences, formats and stakeholders, keeping priorities clear, activity coordinated, and everything moving to a consistently high standard.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead some of our biggest internal communication campaigns, projects and colleague events, taking them from initial brief and creative thinking through to high-quality delivery and evaluation.
- Help shape and manage the AXA UK&I editorial plan, bringing together business unit and organisation-wise priorities to create a relevant, aligned and well-sequenced and timed flow of communications for colleagues.
- Turn priorities into compelling, integrated communication plans, brining together content, channels, events and leadership communications to maximise reach, engagement and impact.
- Lead key channel development and enhancement project working with our technology teams and stakeholders to improve functionality, content impact and the overall colleague experience.
- Be the go-to coordination lead for high-profile communication activity, joining the dots across audiences, stakeholders, channels and our specialist resources to keep complex delivery moving.
- Work closely with Strategic Internal Communication Business Partners and other comms specialists turning strategic communication plans into creative, high-impact activity.
- Provide day-to-day direction to our Content and Channel Specialists and the Communication Assistants, managing workflow, priorities and resources while maintaining high standards of quality, brand and editorial consistency.
- Keep raising the bar for our communications, using insight, feedback and performance data to improve what we do and finding bolder, more effective ways to engage colleagues.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) from December 2026. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. You’ll frequently spend time in our London office and be comfortable with travelling to other AXA offices.
Your skills & experience:
- Strong Internal Communications experience, with a track record of delivering high-impact campaigns, projects, events and colleague engagement activity in a large organisation is essential.
- Great editorial judgement and a strong instinct for what makes compelling content that cuts through and engages different audiences.
- Confident using AI and emerging technology to create and enhance content, support creative design and streamline communication workflows.
- Good understanding of digital channels and how to continually improve the colleague experience across them.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to bring structure to a busy, fast-moving environment and keep multiple priorities moving at pace.
- Creative, curious and confident challenging the status quo, with the energy to try new approaches and continually raise the bar.
- Brilliant stakeholder and influencing skills, with the confidence to work across different teams and bring people together around a shared outcome.
- Comfortable using insight, feedback and data to understand what’s working and improve the impact of communications.
