The Opportunity:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Head of Capital Management to join the P&C Capital Actuarial team. This is a rewarding role, supporting the UK Chief Actuary in their Capital Management responsibilities. The role will require active engagement with the wider business departments and therefore an understanding of GI Business is essential, in addition to experience in Capital modelling and senior stakeholder management. Using your strong analytical skills and business acumen, you’ll work alongside some of the most talented qualified actuaries.

What will you be doing?
- Capital management function for UK branch responsible for managing capital and capitalisation activities e.g. management actions.
- Ensure delivery of analysis supporting the buffer, and reporting requirements including quarterly and annual model change reports.
- Ensure successful running of Capital Committees and effective contribution to business governance fora.
- Ensure delivery and validation of regulatory submissions to PRA – QRTs, templates.
- Contribute to additional reporting requiring capital management input e.g. ORA/AFR etc.
- Ensure delivery of UK Branch premium and reserve risk parameterisation and required signoffs.
- Support the production and use of other applicable internal models within the Group e.g. SST, economic model etc.
- Support embedding the model output into the business and model use including risk based return in product strategy, reinsurance purchase, strategic asset allocation etc.
- Effectively manage senior stakeholders across the business on capital related matters and be able to do Board trainings.
- Participation at executive committees
- Operate as a Capital SME in various Projects and business activities and produce ad-hoc modelling and capital analyses as required.
- Liaising with the Group capital and risk teams on modelling and parameterisation and supporting their reviews.
- Liaising with local reserving, pricing, underwriting, finance and risk teams on a regular basis.
- Support model changes for the Group model and development if any.
- Adherence to model governance and model controls suite.
- Manage a small team with direct reports, which includes both senior and junior analysts.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified Actuary with experience in capital modelling and management
- Any prior experience of regulatory engagement would be advantageous
- Relationship building and communication skills.
- Quick grasp of different models, codes and processes and commercial acumen
- Grasp of investment assets and their characteristics is desirable
- Excellent team-working, interpersonal and mentoring skills
- A serious and professional attitude towards compliance of regulatory submissions with an eye for attention to detail in order to support accuracy.
- Enthusiastic and positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and driven to deliver to set deadlines.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
