o you have an interest in London market Real Estate? If you're brilliant at relationship management with brokers, this could be the role for you. We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join AXA Commercial’s Real Estate Distribution team.
You’ll grow profitable long-standing relationships with a designated panel of brokers. You’ll have similar experience of taking full ownership for the generation and retention of profitable business, transferring these skills to manage an aligned panel of brokers.

You'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our London office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Prepare, design, implement and review agreed business development plans.
- Develop a robust pipeline of appropriate new business opportunities for UK and multi-national placements.
- Share the nature of a broker’s business, the marketplace and potential of the relationship with AXA colleagues.
- Identify new deals, assess feasibility and project manage their implementation.
- Promote our strategy, product range, propositions, and key differentiators to leverage opportunities using Media Fly.
- Undertake profit reviews and lead conversations with brokers to agree actions. Support underwriters with rate actions as necessary.
- Seek broker feedback on AXA Commercial’s performance and delivery.

What you’ll bring:
- Strong understanding of underwriting and risk management principles - essential.
- Good Real Estate product knowledge – essential.
- London Market Real Estate experience - essential.
- Mid-market knowledge and generation experience, both for UK and multi-national placements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Time management and prioritisation skills.
- Established networking and relationship building skills.
- Ability to develop reciprocal relationships with Brokers.
- ACII qualification preferred but not essential
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
