How does this role contribute to our collective success?
The Business Analyst will be based in our London office and will be involved in scope definition, estimation, requirements gathering, solution development, functional design and Quality Assurance testing on assigned projects. These projects may touch on any area of Global Markets Insurance but will primarily cover Underwriting, Claims, and Operations. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, facilitate workshops and document scenarios and requirements, be self-starting, able to weigh up decisions and be independent in the delivery of assigned tasks and small projects in a changing environment.
What will you do in this role?
- Collaborate with the business to define and fulfil the requirements
- Support the facilitation of software development through design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement for the Underwriting, Claims, and Operational systems landscape.
- Develop working relationships with the business to understand current processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work with colleagues in other technical teams to ensure change is successfully managed end-to-end.
- Assess implementation activities and cost estimates in coordination with technology developers and solution architects.
- Evaluate solutions elsewhere in the company to assess fit and integration into the International business and technology environment.
- Develop functional process maps and use cases.
- Support system testing
- Act as SME on International system functionality and represent BTS in business workshops and working groups.

- Experience of business operations, systems and/or business analysis. Candidates with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in analysing data to help confirm and drive requirement and solution analysis.
- Proven ability to deliver consistently high-quality results operating under Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent documentation capabilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, flexible environment with competing priorities and timelines
- Good organizational skills the ability to break down larger tasks into milestones, self-start own task assignments and to independently lead small projects.

- Experience in defining and prioritising business requirements and needs.

- Capable of operating in a geographically dispersed project environment including outsourced services/offshore development/QA teams.

Domain Knowledge
- End-to-end insurance domain knowledge including Lloyd’s and Company processes.
- London Insurance market experience, knowledge of Delegated Underwriting Authority processes and systems.
- Familiarity with Policy Admin Systems (IRIS beneficial) / CRM Systems (MS Dynamics beneficial) / SharePoint / Market Binder systems e.g. VIPR etc / Document Management.
- Proficiency with software systems commonly used to manage Projects and requirements, including but not limited to Azure Dev Ops, MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio
