The Opportunity
QBE International are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Paralegal to join our growing Legal team in Leeds. This opportunity would suit someone who is keen to develop their legal career within the insurance industry and to gain more exposure to all areas of the legal field.
You will provide additional in-house capability comprising of legal and administrative support to the QBE International Legal team. This vital role of performing tasks that do not necessarily require the expertise of a qualified solicitor and will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the broader legal team.

Your new role
- Reviewing a range of basic commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, supplier terms and conditions, engagement letters, IT and supplier contracts;
- Working with lawyers on a diverse range of legal areas such as corporate, commercial, insurance, finance/treasury, people, marketing and IT;
- Assisting with major legal projects and coordinating actions, including supporting the Claims team with CCJs;
- Handling general legal/non-legal queries (e.g. correct legal entity, signing of documents);
- Undertaking legal research;
- Document preparation;
- Working with the Legal Operations team including updating intranet and online filing systems and supporting with reporting requirements;
- Utilise legal software and technology;
- Professional development, staying updated with changes in laws and regulations, attending legal seminars, and participating in professional development activities;
- Play an active role in the development of procedures within the International Legal Team and keeping the same up to date;
- Internal & external stakeholder management
About you
- 2 years relevant paralegal experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Sound knowledge of MS Office products and strong IT skills, including in particular Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Copilot;
- Effective organisational and administrative skills
- Practical approach with ability to prioritise
- Confidence to act independently and make technical decisions within competence, with ability to judge when to seek advice
- A team player
