- Assess and validate new civil litigation claims against policy terms.
- Handle a varied caseload including contractual disputes, property damage, nuisance, boundary issues, and more.
- Evaluate evidence, prospects of success, proportionality, and recommend the right strategy.
- Set and review reserves as cases evolve.
Supporting Customers & Stakeholders
- Translate complex legal issues into clear, friendly explanations.
- Work closely with policyholders, panel solicitors, and brokers to keep claims progressing smoothly.
- Provide guidance at every stage of the customer journey.
Technical & Legal Insight
- Apply your knowledge of civil litigation, CPR, and dispute resolution.
- Review legal advice for alignment with policy terms and best outcomes.
- Identify ADR opportunities such as mediation or negotiation.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in audits and help shape ongoing team and process enhancements.
What we’re looking for:
Must‑haves
- Experience in claims handling or civil litigation (e.g., paralegal, legal advisor, insurer role).
- A solid understanding of civil litigation processes and evidence requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and sound decision‑making.
- Clear, confident communication — you can make legal concepts easy to understand.
- Ability to juggle multiple complex cases with great organisation.
Nice‑to‑haves
- Legal qualifications: LLB, LPC, SQE, CILEx, or similar.
- Experience in legal expenses insurance, a law firm, or civil liability claims.
