The Role
This role is a key position within a fast‑paced Working Capital Team responsible for managing the lock‑up of the Casualty Practice across several teams with varied requirements and processes. The Senior Billing Administrator will manage the flow of billings in line with agreed targets, ensuring fee billing is maximised. The work is predominantly high‑volume and low‑margin, requiring strong organisation, attention to detail and regular collaboration with the firm’s key clients and Senior Partners.
The Team
The Working Capital Team supports Partners and fee earners with the efficient management of billing processes, financial controls, and lock‑up performance. The team operates in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment and plays a critical role in ensuring timely billing and revenue recognition across the Casualty Practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
Billing Operations & Working Capital Expertise
- Experience supporting billing processes in a high‑volume, professional services environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to create accurate, easy‑to‑read month‑end reports for Partners.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Confident communicator with experience holding meetings with Partners to discuss, progress and resolve billing issues.
- Able to document actions, track activity, and arrange follow‑up sessions with clear communication.
- Experience escalating issues appropriately to team leaders.
Technical & Process Management
- Ability to produce daily billing positions and advise fee earners on deadlines.
- Experience overseeing training and onboarding of new starters.
- Ability to create and maintain a library of process guides (“How to” manuals).
- Experience with e-billing systems and acting as a subject matter expert.
