What the day will look like
As a Senior Cyber Risk Consultant you will be responsible for advising clients on handling cybersecurity risks and enhancing their cyber resilience, whilst also understanding the importance of, and link to, cyber insurance.
The role involves leading quantification projects, risk assessments and developing cybersecurity strategies across a diverse range of clients and industry verticals. Alongside this, there will be an expectation to mentor junior team members, maintain strong client relationships and stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
You will help clients translate sophisticated cybersecurity and technology risks into clear business‑aligned insights, enabling senior leaders to prioritise investments, respond authoritatively to threats, and strengthen organisational resilience.
Please note that this is not a SOC or hands on technical role. The role requires technical fluency, critical thinking and commercial awareness, perfect for a candidate who wants to advance their career in cyber consulting.
As a Senior Cyber Risk Consultant, you will:
- Lead cyber risk management assessments focused on organisational resilience, operating model impacts and financial exposures.
- Develop clear, actionable cyber risk roadmaps and resilience strategies, ensuring recommendations are pragmatic, commercially aware, and aligned to clients’ business models and regulatory environments.
- Advise clients on cybersecurity maturity and its link to cyber insurance.
- Deliver projects in areas such as Cyber Risk Financial Modelling, Response Readiness, and Risk Assessment.
- Lead client workshops and executive discussions, distilling technical findings into concise strategic messages tailored for senior non‑technical stakeholders.
- Build and champion strong client relationships through proactive and insightful consulting.
- Mentor junior consultants and share knowledge across the team.
- Take ownership of project budgets, billing, and delivering high-quality outputs on time.
- Drive business development by identifying, developing, and converting opportunities.
How this opportunity is different
- Work at the intersection of cybersecurity, business strategy, and insurance - a vantage point that gives our consultants unique influence over how organisations measure, mitigate, and transfer cyber risk.
- Help clients make decisions rooted not only in control maturity, but also in financial impact and resilience outcomes.
- Lead end-to-end projects across the UK and EMEA.
- Work alongside a dynamic leadership team and directly influence strategy and execution.
- Build your expertise in emerging areas like Business Continuity, Operational Technology and Third-Party Risk Management.
- Benefit from a culture of innovation, continuously improving solutions and professional practices.
- Shape your development and career, with support for certifications, specialist training, leadership pathways, and opportunities to contribute to regional and global initiatives.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Broad cybersecurity knowledge, with interest in areas such as Risk Quantification, Third Party Risk Management, and Cyber Resilience.
- Experience working in a consulting, advisory, or client facing environment.
- Ability to analyse cybersecurity risk in a business context — connecting technical vulnerabilities, threat scenarios, and control gaps to quantified financial impacts and strategic implications.
- Proven track record to develop bids, tender documentation, and client proposals. Experience working with senior stakeholders to execute sales opportunities.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior executives, boards, and cross‑functional stakeholders on sophisticated risk and security topics.
- Strong leadership skills, handling projects and coaching team members optimally.
- Experience delivering innovative client solutions and addressing sophisticated challenges.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, cyber risk quantification (e.g., FAIR), or operational resilience regulations (e.g., DORA and NIS2).
- Technical and Risk professional certifications (e.g., ComptTIA, CISSP, IRM, ACII, or equivalent) not mandatory if applicants hold strong commercial experience in cyber risk management.
