Overview
Join Pen Underwriting, a dynamic and ambitious organisation with a clear goal to achieve £1.75bn in Gross Written Premium (GWP).
The position is part of the Senior Leadership team and reports directly to Pen’s Head of Distribution for the UK & Europe.
Pen currently generates a significant amount of GWP from Specialty lines, with a clear ambition to expand into more niche product areas in the coming years.
This role will play a critical part in driving that growth by managing and developing key broker relationships within the Specialty market.
The role is based in London and is best suited to a candidate who is either London-based or can easily commute to London three to four days per week.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious organisation at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping Pen’s future within the Specialty market, working alongside a highly skilled and motivated team.
How you'll make an impact
- Manage a panel of around 20 key broker relationships, focusing on Specialty classes such as Marine (various classes), Professional Indemnity, Solicitors PI, Corporate Cyber, Clean Energy, Technology, and London Market Casualty.
- The broker panel will consist of both pure Specialty brokers and national/consolidator brokers with Specialty divisions.
- Drive organic growth for Pen, with a specific focus on the Specialty classes of business within the assigned broker panel.
- Collaborate across Pen’s three trading divisions, requiring exceptional stakeholder management skills at both Executive and Executive-minus-one levels.
- This is a customer-facing role, requiring significant time spent in the market with brokers. The successful candidate will be expected to engage at all levels within broker organisations.
- Oversee and manage key activities, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Specialty Broker Strategy & Strategic pipeline management
About You
- Extensive experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within a Specialty insurance environment.
- Proven expertise in managing broker relationships and delivering growth in Specialty lines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at senior levels.
- A proactive, market-facing approach, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across broker organisations.
- Right to work in the UK
