Kennedys is looking for a motivated Client Development Executive to join our Business Development team in London. The successful Client Development Executive will support the Senior Client Development Manager and Client Development Advisor and work closely with the partners and lawyers working in the UK insurance Practice. This group focuses on a number of work areas including marine, aviation, property, energy, construction, cyber and financial lines. They will also work with the wider Business Development team, both in the UK and globally, at an operational level helping to drive practice group plans and marketing/BD initiatives. This involves improving and developing our tools for client relationship management and practice business development.

Kennedys' global BD & Marketing team drives profitable revenue growth through a client-centric approach to business development and marketing activity, which enhances our reputation globally.
The global functions include Global Client Account Management (CAM), Pursuits, BD, Marketing Technology & Data, and Marketing and Communications. We have a BD presence in APAC, UK, EMEA, and the US.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the various Insurance product groups at an operational level to support and influence them on their BD activities and client development opportunities
- Deliver on tactical BD items including capability statements, BD and marketing collateral and providing support on content and events
- Assist with product group meetings and be responsible for driving and helping to deliver tactical plans
- Work with key international stakeholders to ensure the profile of our global capabilities and expertise is communicated to the market
- Lead and drive strategic initiatives around a number of insurance clients, to promote a proactive and joined up approach to client relationship management
- Work with the Client and Markets team to support BD initiatives such as our client feedback programme
- Work with the Client Account Management team to support partners and lawyers taking new services and lines of business to our key clients to capitalise on emerging market opportunities and growing our share of wallet.
Required experience
- Previous knowledge of working in business development within a professional services environment
- Strong project management and planning skills
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Effective business writing and communication styles, adaptable to various situations
- Good analytical skills, particularly when looking at financial/matter intelligence
- Excellent IT skills in Word and PowerPoint and advanced skills with Excel
- Understanding of the insurance industry desirable
- Good influencing skills and an ability to challenge desirable
- Pragmatic and self-motivated operator, comfortable working in a non-directive environment desirable.
