This is an exciting opportunity to join our experienced professionals in our Marine Claims team, as a Claims Adjuster, you will play a critical role in the Marine Team by managing and resolving claims within our portfolio of Hull, Cargo and Liability claims for our customers across the globe. You will work closely with your manager coordinating with fellow claims adjusters to bring claims to resolution. You will interact and collaborate with the practice leader and the underwriting team and with brokers, clients and experts.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
· Receiving claims notifications, assessing estimates and negotiating claims up to and including settlement within personal authority.Considering Third Party liabilities, detecting fraud and taking correct action to preserve and maximise recoveries.
· Instructing and controlling surveyors, loss adjusters, solicitors and experts in connection with day to day claims handling ensuring cost and performance appropriate to the loss.
· Ensure collaboration with Assistant Managers and Practice leaders where appropriate to ensure consistent and effective handling of claims and AXA XL Claim Alert process is followed.
· Effective diary management of all claims through use of a diary system and Managing static and inactive claims across the wider team as required
· Supporting underwriting teams and partners in connection with claim trends, marketing and business development and retention activities.
· Liaison with Enterprise Shared Services where required, including monitoring progress, providing advice and guidance to ensure high customer service levels are maintained.
· Work with Management and Claims Legal to identify and select appropriate counsel. Pro-actively manage litigation strategy on claims and ensure local adherence to litigation management principles.
· Assist Marine team in key initiatives within product line and execute within agreed timescales.
· Provide superior customer service to policyholders and brokers and ensure the same high customer service standards are upheld by all colleagues.Continually identify areas where client experience can be improved.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Effective communicator with excellent organizational skills
· Innovative mindset – ability to find successful solutions
· Good numerical and literacy skills (Minimum GCSE passes Mathematics and English)
· Good PC and systems skills (relevant AXA XL systems, MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
· Some experience of Marine insurance lines, particular interest or knowledge of Marine Insurance, will be highly beneficial.
· Basic understanding of the principles of insurance including considering policy liability, terms and relevant clauses, preferably from a claims background, however, other technical insurance experience will be considered.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
· ACII desired but not essential
· Working knowledge of Lloyd’s minimum standards, Lloyd’s regulations, and the subscription market
