Overview
Join our Strategic Bid Management Team (SBMT) and play a central role in how Gallagher approaches and delivers its most important client opportunities. This role acts as the senior partner to the Head of SBMT, helping shape direction, bring structure to delivery, and connect teams across our Retail and Specialty Broking Divisions.
You’ll work at both a strategic and practical level, translating priorities into clear actions, strengthening how we work, and ensuring high standards are applied consistently. Alongside this, you’ll stay close to delivery by supporting key bids where your input can influence outcomes.

How you'll make an impact
In this role, you’ll act as the link between strategy and delivery, helping turn direction into practical ways of working across the bid function. You’ll work closely with the Head of SBMT to align priorities, support stakeholders and ensure teams are clear on what’s needed and how work should be delivered.
You’ll help embed consistent standards, processes and governance, making sure bids are approached in a structured way and teams have the tools and guidance they need. By working across Retail, Specialty and enabling functions, you’ll bring people together, improve collaboration and help raise the overall quality of delivery.
Alongside this, you’ll lead and support colleagues within the SBMT, setting clear expectations, building capability and supporting performance and development. You’ll also contribute to performance tracking and insight, helping the team understand what’s working well and where changes are needed.
You’ll stay involved in delivery too, focusing on high-priority opportunities where additional structure, stakeholder alignment or challenge can improve outcomes.

About You
- You’ve led bids, proposals or commercial delivery work in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- You set up clear processes or frameworks that help teams deliver work in a consistent way
- You manage or support the development of others, setting expectations and helping build capability
- You work across different teams and bring people together to achieve shared outcomes
- You use data or reporting to identify trends, risks or improvement opportunities
- You communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and guide discussions to support decision-making
- You balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery when needed
- You identify where processes can be improved and take practical steps to implement change
- You maintain focus on quality and ensure outputs meet agreed standards and requirements
