The Opportunity
Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering closely with managers and employees to make a real difference?
QBE Europe is recruiting a People Advisor to join our well-established and successful People team in our Leeds office. In this role, you will deliver a high-quality HR advisory service across our business units at an operational level, supporting managers and employees with practical, commercially focused people solutions.
Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

Your new role
As a People Advisor, you will be a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, providing timely, practical advice across a broad range of people matters.
You will:
- Provide operational HR advice to business managers on people issues and processes, in line with QBE People policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Advise and support employees, helping them interpret People policies and navigate people-related processes.
- Partner closely with People Business Partners to support the delivery of people plans, building a strong understanding of business priorities and operational context.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of People processes and initiatives aligned to business needs.
- Support the successful delivery of People and business projects, helping to progress wider People initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with managers and People colleagues to deliver a credible, commercially focused advisory service.
- Provide an excellent end-to-end advisory service across all People matters, including performance management, compensation and benefits, and People policies, escalating issues where appropriate.
About you
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented HR professional who is confident operating in a fast-paced environment. You will bring:
- Broad technical HR knowledge, including employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly.
- Excellent organisation and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Confidence working independently and using initiative, while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
